Who This Is About

What This Website Collects
Nothing automatically, beyond standard server logs. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising or social media pixel, no session tracking, and no cookie set by this website. You can browse every page without identifying yourself.
The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard technical logs of requests — IP address, browser type, and which page was requested. These are used to keep the site running and secure. Mark does not use them to identify or profile visitors.
Information You Choose to Give
Booking a call. The booking calendar is provided by Calendly, a third-party service. When you book, you give Calendly your name, email address, and anything you type into the booking form. Calendly sets its own cookies and has its own privacy policy — the consent banner you see inside the calendar is theirs, not ours.
Emailing or calling. If you email or phone Mark, he has whatever you send him: your address, your number, and what you tell him.
Booking an event. Payments for The Gathering are handled by Stripe through a payment link. Your card details go to Stripe and are never seen, handled or stored by Mark or this website. Mark receives your name, email and the fact that you paid.
The mailing list. If you sign up for event dates, your email address is used for exactly that — announcing dates. It is not sold, rented or shared, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
What It's Used For
To reply to you, to run the event you booked, and to let you know about dates if you asked to hear about them. That's the whole list.
Your information is never sold. It is not shared with anyone else except the service providers named above — Calendly, Stripe, Vercel, and Mark's email provider — who process it only to make those specific things work. Some of those providers store data overseas, including in the United States.
Mark may be required to disclose information where the law compels it, or where there is a serious and imminent risk to someone's life or safety.
Sensitive Conversations
Given what this work is about, people sometimes share very personal things when they first make contact. Mark treats those conversations as confidential and does not repeat them, publish them, or use them as examples without asking first.
Any testimonial on this site was shared with the person's permission, and names are withheld by default. If you have given a testimonial and want it taken down, ask and it comes down — no explanation needed.
Please remember that coaching is not therapy or a clinical service, and this website is not a crisis service. If you are in crisis, call 000 or Lifeline on 13 11 14. More options are on the support resources page.
Seeing, Correcting or Deleting Your Information
You can ask Mark what information he holds about you, ask him to correct it, or ask him to delete it. Email mark@purposethroughpain.organd he'll sort it out. There is no charge and you don't need to give a reason.
If you are unhappy with how a request was handled, you can raise it with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to This Policy
If the way this site handles information changes — a new form, a mailing list provider, anything of that kind — this page gets updated at the same time, and the date at the top changes with it.
